Ja, die Freiheit. Sich von Metall und Holz, von Fell, Saiten und Tasten zu lösen, sich überhaupt bewegen zu können. Und aus den Schubladen zu springen: Lyrismus, Energy Playing, Freie Improvisation. Leichter zu
werden als Luft, und das bei der Dichte!

Zu dritt. Marilyn Crispell und Sebastian Gramss als Mitreisende auf Ditzners Carte Blanche. Flüge 1 & 2: ein perfektes Präludium, eingerahmt von Gramss’ Glissandi ein Auftürmen von Energie, schwebendes Scheppern des Leichtmetalls, Kinetik. Dann eine Sensation: wie man aus kleinen Angriffen auf die Stille einen Sog entwickelt und vorbereitet in die pure Schönheit gleitet. Crispell weiß zwar, wie man Coltrane-Balladen spielt, aber die Schönheit wird hier nicht zitiert, sie ereignet sich. Der vierte Flug beginnt in Ditzners typischer Grooveleichtbauweise und hebt sofort ab. Wird es an einer Stelle dichter, löst es sich an der anderen. Und fliegt von selbst. Das Ende der schwebenden Suite: luftige Changes, eine Melodie gar (von Fred Hersch). Wo die Flüge enden. Auf Schönheit kann man im Jazz durchaus beharren – und vielleicht ist nur, wer einen gelösten Bezug zu Schönheit hat, wirklich frei.
